Did you know that the story at http://www.bancomicsans.com about how Comic Sans was invented for Microsoft Bob is merely a smokescreen to cover up the truth?
Comic Sans is an experiment gone horribly wrong. You see, Komar and Melamid conducted one of their surveys to determine the Most Wanted Font and the Most Unwanted Font. When they mixed up all the ingredients for the Most Wanted Font, out came the horrifying banality that is Comic Sans. It was supposed to be an artistic statement, but due to a bureaucratic mixup at Microsoft, it was shipped in Windows and the rest is history.
The Most Unwanted Font looks exactly like Helvetica. Between these two embarrassments, Komar and Melamid suppressed the whole project.
